Alltel adds MAP AND GPS features.

Alltel launched a new location-based service application that will help subscribers find maps and directions to various points of interest. The service, which can be downloaded from Alltel's Axcess store, is called Where. Subscribers with GPS-enabled phones can use it to find places such as restaurants and gas stations, and will be given real-time weather and traffic conditions along with the mapping and driving directions. It will work with five phones to start: the Hue, the LG AX8600, the Samsung u520, the Wafer and the Wave. The service will cost $2.99 per month.
