First HSUPA Data Card Approved

The FCC today approved the Option GlobeTrotter Express HSUPA, the first HSUPA data card for use in the US. The new card from Option has Tri-band (850/1900/2100) HSUPA - the latest 3G standard capable of download speeds up to 7.2 Mbps and upload speeds over 2 Mbps. The card also offers compatibility with older 3G protocols, WCDMA and HSDPA, as well as quad-band EDGE. This spring AT&T announced it would be rolling out an HSUPA upgrade to its 3G network later this year. This card will likely help AT&T launch the upgraded service.
