Sanyo is reportedly in talks to sell off its handset business. Despite mild success in Japan and the US, handsets are still a loss maker for Sanyo. They are looking at other Japanese handset manufacturers as potential buyers - most likely Sharp and Kyocera. Sanyo previously tried to split off its handset unit into a joint venture with Nokia's CDMA division, however that deal failed shortly after it was announced leaving Sanyo with the money-losing business.
